- I have been a professional hairstylist since I was 16 years old, and cutting my friends hair since I was 14. From the very first cut I was "hooked"....It was so much fun to create a cut, and have it turn out well that I went to jr high the next day and started looking for volunteers that would let me cut their hair! It was the boys that were willing for the first year, then my girlfriends started letting me work on them! 'What a rush!! I am lucky that I truly found my passion! I became a fully licensed cosmetologist before I graduated from high school. I worked and built my clientele for a few years, then I bought the salon from my parents at age 23. From that point I have owned and operated 7 salons, 26 years later...I am still here and loving it! My newest venture, along with my partner, Donovan, is to open a hair extension teaching facility, called Vanity Hair Extension Academy and produce and sell our own branded line of extensions called Vanity Hair Extensions. This new addition is keeping us busy!
